Registration process for Homestay

 

Step 1- Student profile
The first step is to complete our online form student form. We will reply in the next 24 hours by email and please provide a proof of your student status or your registration at the school plus fill out this form and send to us and we will give you the link of the best options that we have for your profile. After you choose the best option for you we will proceed to step 2.

Step 2- Contact with the family
We submit your profile to the family for approval and when we got approval, we will introduce to you the family by email. We also request  proof of your student status.

Step 3- Flight Information and airport pick-up
Please try to accommodate the time of your flight in times that the family will be free to pick-up you at the airport otherwise we will try to find an alternative and in the last case you may have to pay an extra fee of $60. Please let us know in advance your flights details.

Step 4- Payments
The first month of accommodation fee needs to be made in the first 2 days that you arrive at the home family + a damage deposit refund of $200 if the family request that (sometimes families request a damage deposit to the students that are going to stay more of 3 months).

Home-stay with 3 meals (full board)
• Single room, $750 per person
• Shared room for 2 people, $600 per person
Home-stay with no meals (self-catering)
• Single room, $500 per person
• Shared room for 2 people, $350 per person

Short or long-term students
Students enrolled in programs longer than 3 months, we requested to stay minimum 3 months at the house. Short term (less of 3 months) is for a couple or student enroll in a summer program.

Step 5- Home stay extension or termination
If you liked the house and wants to continued after 3 months you just need to notified us and the family in your second month. Please give us a 1 month of notice in case of any change regarding your home-stay.

Step 6- Refund Policy
No refunds will be granted to those students who decide to leave the accommodation before the booked time. Refunds will be return as a discount on the last month or in the last day of accommodations.

Placement Fee (non-refundable) one-time payment to Overseas Frontiers:
$150 per person (we will give you some options that match the family with your profile)

Welcome Package (optional)
For $130 Overseas Frontiers will give you support in your arrival,  we will pick-up you in your second day of your arrival to welcome you in Winnipeg, show you the city, shopping mall if you need to purchase, clothing a cellphone plan, do some groceries or open bank account. Please let us know if you need something else to give you a quote.
